MANILA, Philippines — With 148 episodes and two seasons, “Can’t Buy Me Love” entailed many months of shooting in the world’s oldest Chinatown, Binondo, for two of the series’ stars, Anthony Jennings and Maris Racal.

As such, Anthony and Maris, also known as the love team SnoRene from the series, have tried everything that Manila’s gastronomy center has to offer.

“Halos lahat na-try na namin dito, ang tagal namin dito,” said Anthony at his and Maris’ recent launch as new Coca-Cola Foodmarks campaign endorsers.

“Hindi kasi kami nakakalabas sa set, ‘yung food dinadala lang sa set, food trip lang kami araw-araw,” Maris said.

The love team, however, both agreed that fried dumplings and fried siopao are among the best they have tried in Binondo while shooting “Can’t Buy Me Love.”

“Saka ‘yung hopia,” Anthony added.

Even not for the series, Maris said that she brings her friends to Binondo for a food crawl.

"I have friends from Davao, pumupunta sila rito, dinadala ko sila sa Binondo. Or minsan galing na sila sa Binondo, pumupunta sila sa bahay ko," she shared.

Coca-Cola Foodmarks campaign aims to put a spotlight on unique “food landmarks” that define vibrant Filipino culture. As part of the program, the beverage brand designated a “Foodmarks” signage on heritage food destinations in Binondo, and soon all over the Philippines, which can be accessed as a suggested dining list for food trippers via a mobile application map, https://www.coca-cola.com/ph/en/offerings/foodmarks. — Videos by Deni Rose M.
