Skyline Hospital and Medical Center puts the care in healthcare

Khaila Gurion - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Founded on a vision to make quality healthcare accessible to all Filipino families, five siblings of the Baldonado family established Skyline Hospital and Medical Center (Skyline in San Jose del Monte, Bulacan is a secondary hospital in the region).

“We are focused on our vision to be the most efficient and preferred hospital in the region. That’s why we aim to always provide quality service, a comfortable environment, and sincere care from our staff — factoring everything in to make a hospital that’s conducive to healing,” says Lumina Health Corporation chairman of the board Engineer Bonifacio Baldonado.

Skyline was intelligently designed to make it conducive to healing — from the ventilation to the spacious corridors, the welcoming lobby, high ceilings, and proper waste disposal.

The hospital boasts state-of-the-art equipment, leaders with a clear vision, board-certified doctors with many years of experience, and a hardworking and reliable staff.

Baldonado adds, “Skyline Hospital and Medical Center aims to be the best healthcare provider and the referral hospital north of Metro Manila. We are a group of at least 250 dedicated people working together towards a shared vision of healthier, longer, and better quality lives for all the citizens of the City of San Jose del Monte and its immediate surrounding areas. As a team, we are focused on providing high-quality health and hospital services. We will perform well on key safety and quality indicators.”

One would see nurses and doctors carrying Tablets as they do their rounds of the hospital. These gadgets are used to store important data and results about the patients at the hospital. Skyline is 70-percent paperless.

“We bring together the very best in professional expertise and medical infrastructure to create the cutting-edge technology app, a fully-computerized end-to-end hospital information system called H.E.I.R.S.,” says Skyline president Editha Baldonado-Obediente.

H.E.I.R.S. (Hospital Electronic Information and Recording System) is a full computerized system that records all the data as well as transactions of a Skyline’s patient. From vital signs to diagnostic results and billing, all the information is uploaded automatically from the equipment to the system. H.E.I.R.S. also provides an in-depth patient medical history for preventive diagnostics and other possible health risks.

What was supposed to be a small lying-in clinic became a 150-bed capacity tertiary hospital in northern Metro Manila. At first, the Baldonados saw the gap in healthcare in the region. Realizing that the population and progress in San Jose del Monte increase rapidly, the siblings decided to aim for a bigger goal.

“It was not an easy decision for us siblings to put up a tertiary hospital. But after a lot of reconsiderations and a lot of trust, our dream became a reality,” enthuses Skyline senior vice president Dr. Dominador Baldonado.

“I am ecstatic that this dream project is now a reality. We commit to deliver its purpose, that is to become the healthcare destination of choice for the local and regional community, and eventually, be known as a symbol of quality healthcare in the region, being at par with the best hospitals, while making healthcare accessible to all,” asserts Baldonado-Obediente.
