Go, Tulfo lead Pulse Senate ratings

MANILA, Philippines — Senators Bong Go and Raffy Tulfo have obtained the highest approval ratings among senators, a survey conducted by Pulse Asia showed.

The survey, conducted from Sept. 27 to 30, showed that 76 percent of the respondents approved of Go’s performance.

Only nine percent said they disapproved of his performance, while 15 percent were undecided.

Tulfo obtained an approval rating of 71 percent, with 14 percent disapproving of his performance and 16 percent undecided.

They were followed by Senate Minority Leader Alan Peter Cayetano (65 percent approve, 14 percent disapprove), Sen. Bam Aquino (64 percent approve, 15 percent disapprove), Sen. Rodante Marcoleta (63 percent approve, 14 percent disapprove) and Sen. Loren Legarda (61 percent approve, 12 percent disapprove).

Also obtaining majority approval ratings were Sen. Pia Cayetano (59 percent approve, 12 percent disapprove), Senate President Pro Tempore Panfilo Lacson (56 percent approve, 22 percent disapprove), Sen. Imee Marcos (54 percent approve, 22 percent disapprove), Senate President Vicente Sottto III (52 percent approve, 25 percent disapprove) and Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri (50 percent approve, 15 percent disapprove).

Senators with less than a majority approval ratings included Sherwin Gatchalian (49 percent approve, 16 percent disapprove), Risa Hontiveros (46 percent approve, 28 percent disapprove), Francis Pangilinan (43 percent approve, 28 percent disapprove), Francis Escudero (39 percent approve, 30 percent disapprove), Joel Villanueva (34 percent approve, 33 percent disapprove) and Jinggoy Estrada (22 percent approve, 52 percent disapprove).

Only 17 senators were included in the survey, the results of which were seen by The STAR.

Pulse Asia’s September survey had 1,200 respondents and a margin of error of plus/minus 2.8 percent.
