PAO: Crime scene where Carl Arnaiz was killed 'staged'

MANILA, Philippines — The Public Attorney's Office said the crime scene where Carl Angelo Arnaiz allegedly engaged in a shootout with Caloocan City police seemed to be staged as their forensic team found no bullet slugs or holes on the wall, absence of blood and the soil was undisturbed.
PAO's chief forensic Dr. Erwin Erfe released this latest finding on the death of the 19-year-old in a radio interview over DzBB on Friday.
"Lumalabas po ay undisturbed ang lupa at undisturbed ang vegetation, wala kaming nakitang blood. Wala kaming nakitang slugs. Wala ring nakitang bullet marks doon sa pader," Erfe said.
The forensic team is looking at the possibility that the grassy lot where Arnaiz's body was found on August 18 might be a secondary crime scene.
"Ang tingin po namin ay secondary crime scene at itinapon lang doon si Carl Angelo," Erfe said.
"Mukhang pinatay po siya sa ibang lugar. Mukhang staged crime scene 'yung kay Carl Angelo Arnaiz," he added.

Planted evidence?

Erfe also hinted that the shell casing and the 9mm they found might have been planted noting the ease to find casings at any firing range.
Arnaiz went missing on August 17 along with 14-year-old Reynaldo de Guzman after the two went out to buy midnight snacks in their Cainta, Rizal neighborhood.
De Guzman's body was found Wednesday in a creek in Nueva Ecija, around four hours drive away from his home. His face was wrapped with tape and over 20 stab wounds riddled his body.
PAO believes those behind Arnaiz's death might be the same ones who killed De Guzman.
