Regine is Favorite Female Artist

SOUNDS FAMILIAR - Baby A. Gil - The Philippine Star
Regine is Favorite Female Artist
Regine Velasquez is headlining Regine At The Movies, which will be held at the New Frontier Theater at the Araneta Center on Nov. 17 and then on the next weekend of Nov. 24 and 25.

Now over 30 years in the business but still and ever, the big fan favorite. Songbird Regine Velasquez-Alcasid was named the Favorite Female Artist at the People’s Voice Award section of the recent Awit Awards 2018. As the name People clearly says, this is the award wherein the people, the masses or the fans make their feelings felt by voting for the nominees they like. And this time around, the one they said they liked was Regine.

Not only that. R3.0, the album that Regine recorded at Viva Records to celebrate her 30th year in show business, was named the Favorite Album of the Year. The special three-disc R3.0 set is made up of new songs, revivals of memorable oldies that she used to sing during her kontesera days, and new arrangements of some of her early hits. R3.0 has already yielded two hit singles. One is Regine’s cover of the UP Dharma Down classic Tadhana and a new original song, Hugot.

Incidentally, here is great news for Regine followers. The Songbird is headlining Regine At The Movies, which will be held at the New Frontier Theater at the Araneta Center on Nov. 17 and then on the next weekend of Nov. 24 and 25.

When the title says Regine At The Movies, I am sure we can already look forward to movie themes like My Heart Will Go On, Moon River, When I Fall In Love and Beauty And The Beast. I am also hoping she will include themes from her own movies like Ikaw, Kailangan Ko’y Ikaw, Pangarap Ko Ang Ibigin Ka, I Can and others.
