Kim Chiu apologizes over ‘controversial’ press statement

Chuck Smith - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines – “Wala namang nag-walk out.

This is what said Kim Chiu in response to reports that members of the press were offended and walked out because of her statement in a media gathering of her upcoming movie “Bride for Rent.”

During the press conference for the said movie last Tuesday, Janaury 7, the Kapamilya actress said in response to a question about the status of her relationship with on-screen partner Xian Lim: “We don't owe you any of our personal lives siguro.”

She added, “You can think whatever you want to think as long as you're happy when you watch us on TV, nakikita ‘nyo kung paano kami ma-inlove, ganyan and 'yon na 'yon.”

Her said statement garnered negative comments on social media and a gossip blog site allegedly that a member of the entertainment press walked out because of her answer.

But Kim defended her “controversial” comment and said she already apologized, entertainment news site Philippine Entertainment Portal reported.

“Nag-sorry naman ako. And siguro, na-misinterpret lang,” she said.
