Sexy Talk with Sen. Chiz

It took some prodding (nay, needling!) before Sen. Chiz Escudero agreed to do this “sexy talk.”

“Why me?” he asked.

Because he’s hot copy these days, a heartthrob if you may, touted as the most eligible (“catchable”) bachelor because he’s (happily?) single again, being linked first to Kris Aquino (who insisted that they are “only friends” who are hosting the ABS-CBN morning show Kris TV, with Chiz as guest co-host for five weeks) and Heart Evangelista whom Chiz has been, not “dating” but only “meeting” every now and then (sighted together thrice so far).

Last Thursday at Chateau 1771 in El Pueblo, Ortigas Center, Pasig City, Funfare finally pinned down Chiz for the long-delayed “sexy talk” and for straight-from-the-horse’s-mouth comments about certain issues. He couldn’t say no. The affair was for the launch of Frabelle Foods (hotdogs, fish nuggets, tocino, etc.) of which he’s the endorser. To prove that he’s a food lover and a good cook, Chiz, with an apron wrapped around him, demonstrated his culinary skill by whipping up spaghetti in front of the media which gobbled up the “Chiz-paghetti” with gusto (burp, burp, burp!!!). 

There was a short-minute break and before Chiz came back for the Q&A, he sat down for an exclusive one-on-one with Funfare (and Startalk which is airing the interview this afternoon on GMA, 2:30 to 4:30 after Eat, Bulaga!).

I’m sure you’ve been getting lots of endorsement offers. Why Frabelle?

“Aside from the fact that Kiko, member of the family that owns Frabelle, is my good friend, I like the taste of Frabelle Foods. Kiko made me taste the Frabelle hotdog and it was love at first bite at puro mga ganyang klaseng ulam ang agahan ko. During that tasting, we didn’t talk yet about endorsement. That came later.”

Why hotdogs of all foods? Why not something else?

“I think it’s the kid in me. Lahat ng bata mahilig sa ganoong food. I’m also like that.”

If you were to make somebody taste the hotdogs, who would he or she be?

“If anybody would come to my house, and I’d be given the opportunity to serve them, patitikimin ko siya o sila ng hotdogs…basta agahan lang ha, huwag hapunan.”

From hotdogs, let’s go to a hotter topic…your love life. Your personal life is more open now. You’re very hot and newsworthy, so whether you like it or not. Transparency is the order of the day.

“Hahahaha! Transparency in the government, you mean?”

In an exclusive Funfare interview, Tintin confirmed that your marriage was annulled. You also confirmed on Kris TV what Tintin said that you’ve remained friends for the sake of the children and she’s free to visit the kids anytime she wants to. Tintin also said that the kids have to stay with you because you are more financially capable of taking care of them.

“All parents should live for their children; siguro trabaho at obligasyon at duty ng bawat magulang na mabuhay para sa kanilang mga anak. Magkasama man sila o hindi, nananatili man silang kasal o hindi, siguro dapat nasa isip ‘yung mga bata at kapakanan ng mga bata, and that’s what made us friends after the difficult part of our life.”

Are you for divorce?

“No. We have a law on annulment, not divorce, mas gusto ko gawing affordable at accessible ‘yung annulment kaysa magbukas na naman tayo ng panibagong away sa simbahan, may away na nga ngayon ang gobyerno at simbahan, huwag na nating dagdagan pa. Mas maganda lang sana maging affordable at accessible, hindi ‘yung puro mayaman na lang at maykaya ang nakakakuha ng annulment.”

Let’s talk about Heart Evangelista. You said, “When you are 27, it’s dating. But when you are 42, it’s meeting.” What are your frequent meetings all about; are you getting Heart to campaign for you in 2013?

“Hahahaha! Posible, malay mo. There’s nothing really at this point. Yes, we have met on several occasions.”

So, meeting, not dating?

“Meeting nga, meeting. And the conversation is good.”

A crucial question: Are you single and available?

“You know, I’m not in the habit of announcing…In fact, I am never on the prowl, never been on the prowl. Mas tinututukan ko ‘yung mga trabaho at mga anak ko at ‘yung bahay ko siyempre…’yung tintirhan namin dahil walang magaasikaso. If it should happen, let it happen; if it should come, let it come. But I’m not really on the search, on the prowl for anyone.”

Okay, for sexier topics…What is sexy to you?

“The brain. Nice conversation.”

When do you feel sexy?

“Kapag bagong paligo, hahahaha!”

What part of your body do you consider sexy?

“Hmmmmm, good question! Wala, eh!”

What part of a woman’s body do you find sexy?

“The waist. Why the waist? Kasi payat na nga ako, di ba? Di naman siguro bagay na malayong mas malaki sa akin ‘yung waist ng babae.”

When and to whom did you lose your innocence?

“When I got married…to my ex.”

“Let me see…I don’t read that many books other than those related to my work at the Senate.”

Sexiest movie?

(Thinks awhile) “Basic Instinct (starring Sharon Stone).”

Do you watch porno films?

“Yes, soft lang…soft!”

“Saxophone.”
