Machete thanks fans

MANILA, Philippines -  Aljur Abrenica’s (photo) Machete on GMA 7 has captured the public’s attention. Everyone is talking about it and those who have watched it say Aljur is perfect for the role — physically and acting-wise.

In its first few weeks, many things have happened in Machete. The characters have evolved. People notice Aljur‘s sex appeal.

“Yes, I made some sacrifices to keep fit,” he says. “I do regular workouts, drink lots of water and avoid carbs. I may not get enough sleep because of the long taping hours but I am very happy with its result. Before we started, I went through some strenuous workshops with my mentors. Talagang tutok kami. I am grateful to GMA 7 for entrusting to me this project — nung narinig ko before na iri-remake ang Machete sa TV, talagang nagdasal ako sana mapunta sa akin ito. And thank God, he heard my prayers.

“I am happy but the thought that the story will only run for eight weeks saddens me. But that’s how it is. No show lasts forever, right? Nakakahon na ang story na ito. The time frame must be followed and I thank everyone who didn’t get tired of supporting Machete,” says Aljur.
