Trends & Technologies: 21 years of service excellence

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Trends & Technologies Inc., the country’s leading solution provider and systems integrator, recently celebrated its 21st anniversary.

As part of its month-long celebration, Trends organized some exciting activities to show its appreciation to its employees and their families, to the community and honor the strong ties that it shares with its clients and partners.

As part of the month-long celebration, Trends organized a golf tournament for its trusted partners and valued clients, which include Cisco (major presenter), Netpoleon, MSI-ECS, MTech (presenters), Aspect, F5, WJC, ICSI, MEC, Westcon Group, Panduit, Hitachi Data Systems (patron sponsors) Nice, and Comlan (minor sponsors).

The company’s top executives also participated in the tournament which was held at The Orchard Golf and Country Club in Dasmariñas, Cavite.

Since its inception in 1992, Trends has come a long way: from being a basic data connectivity and cabling enterprise to a 600-strong workforce with core competencies in fields like IP infrastructure implementation, voice, data, and multimedia convergence, network security, and education.

Over the years, Trends has held a strong foothold in the market, while competing with multinational companies like IBM and Fujitsu. It has remained the number one ICT solution provider offering everything from software, hardware, ancillary equipment, to project management and design.

It helps its clients throughout the whole process, with its knowledge base and field experience, from conceptualization to implementation and management until maximized market advantage is achieved.

Trends has provided services to over 300 local and global companies. Aside from its Manila headquarters, Trends also maintains offices in Cebu, Davao, and Vietnam.

Communications had been the company’s main area of concentration when it first began, but Trends’ services have expanded to include fields such as business process outsourcing, financial services, manufacturing, the telecommunications services industry, government, healthcare, hospitality, and education.

One of the main reasons for Trends’ continued success is the way it puts a high
premium on its people.

The family-oriented culture was further solidified during the company’s Family Day, one of the many events in celebration of its 21st anniversary, wherein a whole day was dedicated to Trends’ employees and their families.

The day’s fun activities included a magic show, a bubble show, a film showing, and Halloween trick or treat. Best in Costume awards were given to Elijah Go and Sophia Nadal. The children particularly enjoyed having their faces painted and their pictures taken in the photo booth.

To encourage friendly competition and physical well being, Trends also held a “21-day weight-loss challenge” from Oct. 4 to 24, and gave away prizes to the winners who had lost the most weight. Maribel Chica and Erwin Troy Fiel won by losing 14 pounds and 12 pounds, respectively. Teresita Ortilano was declared overall champion having lost 7.79 percent of her body weight.

Trends also promotes a strong sense of community which in turn contributes to the productivity of its personnel. Last Oct. 19, its employees participated in the Department of Education’s Adopt-A-School Program by donating paint and all materials needed to paint the first and second floor corridors of the Villamor Airbase Elementary School. The enthusiastic participants completed the painting of the whole second floor hallway.

“Trends is the country’s leading solution provider in the field of information and communications technology, and for good reason. We provide the best service for our clients, offering sound, technologically advanced and cost-effective solutions. Trends is also an equal opportunity employer that values its workforce. We make sure that we hire the best person for the job. We also see to it that our stakeholders’ expectations are realized,” said Trends chairman and CEO Hasan Fard.

Because of the solid ties that it fosters with both its employees and business partners, it’s no wonder that Trends’ operations continue to keep growing strong.

While brilliant engineering and business savvy are a big factor in the company’s growth, communication remains an integral part of the success of Trends and Technologies Inc.
