SM offers new entertainment options

Jennylei Caberte - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - A wealth of entertainment options are now available at your fingertips anytime and anywhere.

This technological wonder materialized recently when entertainment giant SM Lifestyle Entertainment Inc. (SMLEI) and Solar Entertainment Corp. joined forces for the majority ownership of OMNI Digital Media Ventures Inc., which operates Blink.

Blink is a video-on-demand technology that enables users to watch a variety of movies, TV series, news and other video contents anytime and anywhere, using their gadgets such as mobile phones, tablets, computers and smart television sets.

With Blink, you can now cavort with Tom Cruise, or go wild with Mad Men; or run for your life from velociraptors, at your convenience, wherever you are.

Under SMLEI which also operates the country’s biggest cinema chain, SM Cinemas, Blink prides itself with being able to offer contents straight to its platform with Blink Cinema, where contents that have not been released in cinemas will be exclusively shown.

Among its products are Blink Unlimited, which enables its customers to have unlimited access to vast contents of movies and TV series. Blink is the only VOD service in the country to offer Transactional Video on Demand (TVOD), an option where customers can access their choice of movies on a per title basis.

Another unique Blink capability, Blink Pay Per View (PPV), will make live entertainment and sporting events available on demand.

Blink carries not only films, TV series, Pay Per View events but also live TV channels such as ETC, 2nd Avenue, BTV, Home Shopping Network, and CT which are only available on Blink, enabling consumers to #watchmore with its platform.

Omni which entered the partnership with SMLEI, carries with it its tie-ups with top media companies like 20th Century Fox, CBS, Paramount, Sony Pictures, Warner Bros. and Viacom. These all combine with SMLEI’s treasure chest that includes Walt Disney, Crystal Sky, Captive Media, Pioneer, PBA, ABS-CBN, SM Advantage, SM Advantage Prestige, BDO Rewards, SM Development Corp., Global Pinoy and E-plus.

Omni further brought to the fold its partnership with the PLDT Group which includes PLDT and telco leaders Smart Communications and Sun Cellular, that not only provides content but also allow subscribers to charge cost to their accounts or loads.

Blink completes your desired unlimited entertainment experiences from your mobile gadgets to the big screens.

As SMLEI AVP for Video-on-Demand and Out-of-Home Nicole Deato emphasized, “Start blinking now!”
