MANILA, Philippines — Courier giant foodpanda Philippines has disbursed at least P62 million in incentives to its riders between March and May, boosting their income in the midst of elevated fuel prices.

foodpanda said the support provides riders with additional earnings to support their daily needs.

The incentives were unlocked through a series of tasks called Ka-panda Motorcycle Quest, under which extra payouts can be redeemed by completing delivery milestones throughout the day.

foodpanda rider experience lead Ron Sanders said partners had to do a certain number of orders in a day to receive the incentives. The program recorded a 95-percent engagement among riders, who were looking for other ways to boost their income to survive the oil price hikes.

On top of this, Sanders said foodpanda is rolling out weekly quests that allow riders to take home rewards. These milestones include completing a target number of deliveries while meeting rider requirements on attendance and acceptance rates.

Sanders said foodpanda would keep on developing fresh ways for riders to earn more, especially as they have been dealing with rising prices since March.

“Since rolling out these add-on incentive quests in March, we have seen how these initiatives can help support riders’ day-to-day operations, while providing flexible earning opportunities on the platform,” Sanders said.
