JLL named among world’s most ethical companies for 14th year

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — Property research and consultancy firm JLL has been recognized anew by Ethisphere, a global leader in defining and advancing the standards of ethical business practices, as one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies for 2021.

For the 14th consecutive year, JLL has been honored for its commitment to improve communities, build capable and empowered workforces, and foster a corporate culture focused on ethics and a strong sense of purpose.

JLL is one of only four awardees in the real estate industry. In 2021, 135 honorees were recognized spanning 22 countries and 47 industries.

“This award is an attestation to our firm-wide commitment of practicing the highest level of excellence and ethical standards.,” said Christophe Vicic, JLL Philippines country head.

“Rooted in the company’s core value of integrity, which is engrained in our corporate culture, we at JLL Philippines will always remain steadfast to our pledge of providing honest and transparent advice to our employees and our clients alike.”

“While addressing the tough challenges of 2020, we saw companies lead – above all other institutions – on earning the trust of stakeholders through resilience and a commitment to ethics and integrity,” said Ethisphere CEO Timothy Erblich.

According to Ethisphere’s Ethics Index, the publicly listed 2021 World’s Most Ethical Companies honorees outperformed a comparable index of large cap companies by 7.1 percentage points from January 2016 to January 2021.

Grounded in Ethisphere’s proprietary Ethics Quotient®, the World’s Most Ethical Companies assessment process includes more than 200 questions on culture, environmental and social practices, ethics and compliance activities, governance, diversity and initiatives to support a strong value chain. The process serves as an operating framework to capture and codify the leading practices of organizations across industries and around the globe.

This year, the process was streamlined and question set expanded to gauge how applicants are adapting and responding to the global health pandemic, environmental, social, and governance factors, safety, equity, and inclusion and social justice.

JLL has been operating in the Philippines since 1997 as a 100 percent wholly owned entity and currently manages about 5.3 million square meters of real estate with a workforce of over 1,400 employees. With more than two decades of local expertise working hand-in-hand with its global legacy, JLL provides to the Philippine real estate market an unparalleled synergy of services with a strong commitment to achieve real estate ambitions through future-ready approaches.
