CGBP holds Cebu leg of program on writing minutes of meetings

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — With the passage of the Revised Corporation Code, there are now strict guidelines on how the minutes of meetings should be recorded that must be aligned with SEC regulations. With the clamor of many business owners and decision-makers based in the Visayas region to have more world-class training available to them, the Center for Global Best Practices will host a special program titled, “Masterclass on Writing Minutes of Meetings” on June 21, 2019 at the Seda Ayala Center, Cebu City.

With the current climate of greater accountability of board directors and management in decisions made during meetings, every organization needs trained experts with the right skills to take minutes effectively. This program is designed to make your meetings efficient and its outcomes effective through a step-by-step guide from preparing the documentation and its physical requirements of a meeting, to agenda-setting, to using standard terminology in taking down notes and many more! The learning methodology for this session includes an interactive approach on instructions, discussions and exercises. It is the only program that will teach you the best practices in minutes taking and provide you vital information on the legal guidelines and regulations on meetings mandated by the Securities and Exchange Commission.

It will feature Atty. Mia Gentugaya, who was senior partner and is presently counsel of the largest law firm in the Philippines – SyCip Salazar Hernandez & Gatmaitan law offices. She headed its banking, finance and securities department. Her specializations include banking, finance and securities, foreign investments, and corporations. Gentugaya has been cited as one of the leading lawyers in the AsiaLaw Profiles, the International Financial Law Review’s guide to the World’s International Business Law firms, the International Who’s Who of Business Lawyers and Chambers & Partners Asia-Pacific Leading Lawyers for Business.

This program is open to the general public. Public officials and government employees attending training programs like this are exempted from the P2,000-limit set by COA based on the DBM Circular 563 dated April 22, 2016. Seats are limited and pre-registration is required.
