Want to be a YouTube star? Here's an easy way
MANILA, Philippines – Are you aspiring to be a YouTube sensation or the next popular vlogger? Here’s some good news for you!
Smart has introduced its program called Smart Launchpad where content creators like you can get closer to your dream of becoming the next YouTube star.
The telco recognizes the major hurdles to producing great video content online—inconvenient access to a stable internet connection and a lack of proper equipment to produce outstanding content.
“We understand that it may not always be easy for the young Filipino to express themselves on a digital platform – there’s always the challenge of having the right equipment and, of course, not having access to an internet connection strong enough for video uploading,” said Katrina Luna-Abelarde, Head of Wireless Consumer Operations for Smart, in a statement.
With Smart Launchpad Workshops, you can learn from industry experts and top YouTube users how you can make content creation a profession, build your own brand, monetize your YouTube channel and create engaging content plans.
At the end of the workshops, Smart will choose participants who will fly to Los Angeles in the US to collaborate with international YouTube stars.
You can join the workshops by creating an account on YouTube, uploading original videos on your account and registering to the program online. Registration is open until Sep. 15, 2016.
You can also directly upload a video through www.smart.com.ph/launchpad or at Launchpad Upload Stations in selected malls, campuses and hotspots nationwide. At the Upload Stations, you can hang out and collaborate with other content creators, create your own videos and upload them using Samsung devices and Smart’s fast internet connection.

The Smart Launchpad program follows the launch of the #OwnIt campaign, where Smart is inspiring everyone, especially the youth, to share their passions to the world, giving them a voice larger than themselves.
