Anne Curtis gets her biggest break yet as ABS-CBN announces that she has won the title role in the network’s upcoming teleserye Kampanerang Kuba. The actress, who will be wearing heavy prosthetic makeup for the role, will also be marking her first project with the directing team of Wenn Deramas and Andoy Ranay, who began the fantaserye craze with their vivid and pioneering Marina.
Kampanerang Kuba is a casting coup of sorts for the network, as it also brings together acclaimed actresses Eula Valdez and Jean Garcia for their first project together since their career-reviving performances in Pangako Sa ‘Yo. Also on hand is Jomari Yllana, who returns to ABS-CBN for the first time in years. Joining Anne, Eula, Jean and Jomari are Jodi Sta. Maria, who plays her first villain role as the Kampanera’s main antagonist, and Patrick Garcia. Making his TV acting debut is Christian Bautista as the show’s other leading man.
Creating Anne’s prosthetic makeup is artist Rene Abelardo, who also created prosthetic effects for Marina, including the show’s mermaid’s tails.
