Dion’s Heart Goes On

- By: Lexi Schulze of Young Star Magazine -
There must have been a pitch into Celine Dion’s reality when she sang the seemingly immortal "My Heart Will Go On". Did she mean to say her career would go on and on?!

Oprah fans belched a symphony of boohoos when the world’s most publicized diva pulled the "closing act" trick o her legion of fans a couple years back. How could she be so cruel!? How could they be so gullible?!

Nobody in her right frame of mind (not to mention being married to an incredible manager whose belief in his beautiful talent should have garnered him the "I’m so darned loyal, I’m glad to be sharing in half of your incredulous profit since we’re officially a couple" award) would sacrifice a whole lifetime’s worth of fame – or way too much funds – for the simple joys of motherhood! Or so I thought.

Giving up those few years away from the spotlight gave her the family of her dreams! With hubby Rene out of immediate cancer danger, all eyes and ears (for a while) pointed to little Rene Charles, a bouncing baby boy whose diamond-clad pacifier probably left a few sore spots on those otherwise rosy lips.

Celine Dion is smarter than you think. Now, she can safely say she has everything. And with that, ladies and gentlemen… enter Celine Dion. (Again!)

Not that the thrill of being "supermom" has lost its thrill on her. She loves it so much that she recently gave birth to another baby, her eighth English language album entitled A New Day Has Come. And boy, has it come! Ever heard of an artist having enough clout to get all the enthusiastic – and very world-renowned, mind you – collaborators on her album to fly to her… from anywhere on earth?!

And this was definitely not about Celine’s sudden lethargy due to a semi-dropping chest due to breast pumps. The diva’s flat out "NO" to hit the road again sprang from her refusal to leave her baby at seven months – or tag him along – just to get back on the singing saddle.

Nonetheless, Miss Dion was more than thrilled to get back into the groove of things, especially after watching far too much TV and witnessing the whole WTC tragedy via remote control (which affected her so much that she refused to crack a smile for the CD cover).

All jest aside, Celine Dion is mighty keen on offering her new endeavor to anyone who is in need of listening ear. "I want this album to be soothing," Dion suggests. "If people need a partner, a helping hand, to cry, to dance, whatever it is, I want it to be like a shoulder to lean on. As we all know, the world is going through a lot."

What’s to find in A New Day Has Come? No more powerful duets soundtrack singles, no remakes. Just a lot of songs about love and hope, simply showing off a very content, relaxed, and talented lady splendor.

The album was a complete joy for her to make. "I didn’t feel the pressure to try and outdo anything," Dion muses. "I proved myself before, so now I can enjoy. I just let go. It was such a pleasure. I love these songs. They touch me, I’m happy, let me sign to you my joys and emotions. I’ve never felt more powerful."

With an incredibly charmed life, who wouldn’t feel powerful?
