Park, Apalit top Southwoods seniors golf

MANILA, Philippines - Korean Hee Byoung Park and partner Bob Apalit combined for 201 to capture the Group I crown while Mizuho Uchida and Fujio Fujii bagged the Group 2 plum with a 176 in the second Manila Southwoods Seniors Invitational tournament at the Manila Southwoods’ Legends and Masters courses in Carmona, Cavite recently.

Park and Apalit scored 90 Molave points in the first day then came through with a 111 in the next for that 201 as they beat Cres Bendijo and guest partner Norman Tugot by three points in the premier division of the event presented by American Wire and Cable Co. Inc. and backed by hole-in-one sponsor Yamaha by Kart Plaza.

Bendijo and Tugot had a 198 after a 101 and a 97 as they settled for second in the tournament, which drew 57 teams and organized by senior chapter president Jose Cedo and vice president/tournament chairman Paco Gonzalez.
