100-km ultra marathon slated Sunday
MANILA, Philippines - Isport BOTAK is holding the Paa-Tibayan Takbo 100-kilometer marathon, the first ultra marathon ever staged in Metro Manila, on Sunday on a route traversing the major streets of Quezon City, Fairview and Marikina.
A milestone in the local running scene, Paa-Tibayan Takbo 100-K will start and end on Ylanan Road, UP Diliman.
It is held in cooperation with R.O.X. Recreational Outdoor Exchange, R.O.C. Restaurant of Choice, Paul Calvins Deli, Gatorade, QC Ladies Foundation Inc., the Marikina City Government, Summit Media, Businessworld and XFM 92.3.
The event seeks to raise public consciousness of running as a fitness activity and an alternative hobby for a healthy lifestyle. Proceeds will go to the rehabilitation of the UP track and field oval.
Isport BOTAK supports major leagues like the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA), National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) and major corporate, military, and sport club tournaments.
