150 families homeless in fire in Bacoor, Cavite

MANILA, Philippines — At least 150 families spent New Year’s Eve homeless after their houses were razed by fire in Bacoor City in Cavite.

The fire along in a residential area in Barangay Zapote V broke out on Friday at around 5:26 p.m. and reached second alarm. It was put out at around 6:58 p.m.

Arson investigators have not yet determined the cause of the fire, which destroyed at least P150,000 worth of properties.

No casualties were reported in the fire. The displaced residents sought shelter at Longos Elementary School.

Another fire in Bacoor broke out in Barangay P.F. Espiritu VIII yesterday at around 1:38 a.m.

Three mini-buses were destroyed in the fire which was put out by firefighters at around 2:17 a.m.

The fire was caused by faulty electrical wiring in one of the buses, according to authorities.

No one was hurt in the incident.
