Diver missing in Tubbataha

MANILA, Philippines — A diver has been reported missing in Tubbataha Reef in Palawan since Monday, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said yesterday.

PCG spokesman Capt. Armand Balilo said they received a report that identified the diver as Bryan Nazareno.

“We directed the PCG district in Palawan to verify the report, coordinate with the diver’s group and launch search and rescue operations,” Balilo said.

The PCG’s BRP Cabra, with frogmen from its special operations group and a medical team, was dispatched in the area.

Initial information showed Nazareno, a member of the Gutsy Tuason/Squires Bingham sports group, was last seen aboard the boat Palausport in Amos Rock.
