An inspiring festival
The highly anticipated red carpet and awards night of the first-ever Saskatchewan International Film Festival (SIFF) was held at The Broadway Theatre in Saskatchewan, Canada.
Headed by the hardworking SIFF president Mary Joyce Moncupa-Malayba, together with PRIMECom Corp. president and chairman Danny Baliad, the event was an impressive showcase of 21 officially selected film entries coming from Canada, Greenland, India, Iran, Nigeria, the Philippines, Turkey, and the United States.
Philippine Consul General for Alberta and Saskatchewan Zaldy Patron and wife Sheila were among the esteemed guests present. Bringing home the evening’s main awards were Best Director winners Frederick Kroetsh and Tom Robinson and Best Full Length Feature (Fiction) winner Disturbed Heart from Canada.
