The consuls and the ambassador
The ever hospitable couple Peru Consul General Francis Chua and wife Tanzania Consul Betty Chua hosted a farewell dinner in honor of outgoing Thai Ambassador Thanatip Upatising and wife Monthip. Attended by the couples’ common friends in the diplomatic and business communities, the event was a lovely way to cap off the ambassador’s memorable tour of duty in the Philippines. Held at the Chua family’s sprawling mansion in Makati City, guests enjoyed an elegant seven-course dinner and looking back at the Upatisings’ brief but memorable time in the Pearl of the Orient. Consul Betty, who is a talented painter and artist, showcased some of her marvelous works over the years and even gave a special painting to Monthip as a going-away present.

Mia Cabawatan-Lozada was fêted with several dinner parties by her friends at some of her favorite restaurants, Blackbird and Chef Jessie in Makati City. Known for generously giving back to the community, the lovely owner of Bloomwoods Flower Shop is a staunch supporter of various charitable causes and advocacies. With the love and support of her husband, lawyer Leyton Lozada, as well as her friends, it’s no wonder that Mia never forgets to give back for all the wonderful blessings she receives.
