I experienced a sampling of Mandala Spa’s new moves that gave me chills and goosebumps in a very good way.

Stone Magic Therapy

As with all of Mandala’s treatments, the two-hour Stone Magic Therapy begins with a soothing footbath that instantly sets the mood for pure relaxation.

"Surrender your muscles yielding to the massage table," my therapist whispered as I glided to the massage table in anticipation. I willingly surrendered my tired and tense body to her as she started to place smooth stones of various shapes and temperatures behind my back, neck, arms and legs. A stone was also placed on my stomach and over each of the chakras (spiritual openings): the third eye, throat, heart, solar plexus, sacral, and root chakras.

It was amazing how my therapist used both heated and cold stones in a masterful combination of gentle and firm strokes all over my body. In certain moments, I would get the feeling that the stones were actually rolling over my body. Alternately, the stone would feel like it was grinding into a stubborn deep-seated knot. The result was a deeply soothing therapeutic experience that released tension, relieved congestion from the internal organs, and restored balance and harmony to my body, emotions, and spirit.

The session ended with the Yang experience where hot and cold stones were simultaneously run from my "yin and yang side", a technique designed to bring me back to present consciousness. And finally, the "closing spiral", an absolutely soothing step where cold stones were "rolled down" my back, sealing all the positive energy in.

I found the perfect ending while sipping my ginger tea at the terrace, thoroughly amazed at the stones’ healing powers.

Polynesian Symphony Massage

This truly rhythmic massage originates from the Polynesian Ka Huna tradition and is characterized by the Huna’s loving and nurturing approach to holistic healing, which brings balance to body, mind, and soul in physical, mental, emotional and spiritual dimensions.

What makes this treatment amazing is how two pairs of hands work on your body. Two therapists worked in unison, using arms, forearms, elbows and hands in synchronized, rhythmic, and flowing graceful Hula movements all over my body. The variety of gentle and deep strokes seamlessly kneaded my muscles simultaneously until I just surrendered to total relaxation and harmony. The therapist’s grace and care, expert and precise manipulation, combined with the powerful rejuvenating and cleansing properties of the finest virgin coconut oil that they used were absolutely amazing. Once my body was totally relaxed, a series of stretches completed the therapy. To finish off, I was ushered into a warm floral bath where rejuvenating coconut juice was served. It was truly symphonic.
