A life in a T-shirt

CIRCUIT TRAINING - JR Isaac -
It was an interesting mix of fashionistas that trooped to Manila’s favorite lifestyle store, Mix at Greenbelt, when YStyle’s creative director Celine Lopez launched her Loungeri Lux limited-edition, one-of-a-kind T-shirts. The designs echo our romance with fashion and social status. Only a few hundred pieces were made for the season and each T-shirt is embellished with crystals, patches, sequins and unique objects. The progressive shirt design reflects a story that needs to be expressed. Indeed every T-shirt has its own character.

The event was made possible by Kitchen(they created a collosal pan de sal bar that was truly unique), Ralph's Wine and Spirits (they poured delicious Blue Nun wine all throughout the night with bar staff dressed up as nuns) and Absolut ( who provided the zesty cocktails).

Darren Tieste

What’s sexy about wearing a T-shirt?

It’s light on the body and shows off those sexy parts like girls’ busts or guys’ chests.

Maureen Disini

How would you re-design your T-shirt?

I’d play it up with beads, small buttons and Swarovski crystals for a touch of whimsy and spray paint my T-shirt with the letter M.

Bianca Valerio

Whose photo would you print on your T-shirt?

My daughter Natassia as she is my mini me.

Jane Kingsu

Where would you wear your Loungeri Lux T-shirt?

It’s so versatile, I can wear it to any occasion but if I have to be specific, I’d wear it to a party. The shirts alone are already great conversation pieces.

Angelique Villaraza

How would you style a T-shirt for a cocktail party?

Pile on many accessories. They don’t have to match. Boleros, vests, bibs, pins, strands of necklaces and found objects. I could stick in something I love, like a small doll.

Tessa Dragon

Who would you buy a Loungeri Lux T-shirt for this holiday?

One for myself and for my colleagues, Tina Tinio and Xeng Zulueta, because it’s all about luxury for us.

Dave Nugent

When do you normally wear a T-shirt?

Normally only in public and when I am sure I look good underneath it.

Donna Cuna-Pita

What makes a T-shirt a must-have in your wardrobe?

They’re super comfy and are one of the easiest items to dress up or down.

Vince Uy

What is the oldest and most worn-out T-shirt in your wardrobe?

It would have to be my high school PE T-shirt. It’s comfortable. I wear it going out or in bed plus it doesn’t get any more vintage than that!

Mia Borromeo

How can wearing a T-shirt express your style?

It’s all in how you accessorize it. I love wearing a white tee with my black lace bolero and pearls.

Lulu Tan Gan

How can you wear a T-shirt without losing your femininity?

It is the total look that will make a difference. You can be glam in your jeans depending on your top and accessories or you can pick a snug tiny tee with glitter embellishments from Loungeri Lux.

Ricky Toledo

What story of your life would you like to be painted on your T-shirt?

Definitely the high points – my greatest love, the best sex, the most memorable parties with friends and the most fantastic journeys.

Katie Perrott

How do you take care of your favorite T-shirt?

Never dry it on a coat hanger cause the neck line will loose its shape.

Liza Cuenca

Which of the limited Loungeri Lux T-shirts caught your attention?

I was intrigued by the one I saw Ruby Gan wearing. It had a sketch of a camera and a skull patch, which made me wonder what Celine was thinking when she designed it.
