Daniel Padilla’s future is looking so bright, it seems, that he collaborated with i2i New York for a new line of shades. “Dito niyo ako makikita,” the Teen King says of the DJP collection where he, together with i2i’s Tina Ocampo, created over a dozen designs. “Hindi ako magsusuot ng hindi ako.” Hinting at ABS-CBN’s La Luna Sangre wrapping up in two months, he’ll be trading up the red contact lenses he wears as the vampire Tristan for more of these sunglasses, whether for an upcoming US show with co-star Kathryn Bernardo, his birthday break, or a new movie. Alternating between a classic black wayfarer and tortoise-shell rounds with see-through tinted lenses for its unveiling at Manila House, we wonder, how does the world look through his eyes? Supreme steals him for five minutes.

SUPREME: Let’s talk about vision. They say hindsight is 20/20. Are there things about the past that you wish you could change?

I didn’t expect such a woke answer!

Kailangan tayo. Kahit sino pa ang presidente.

As a public figure, how are you influencing change?

Ano ba ang pwede mo gawin as an individual, as a citizen? Hindi ako ‘yung, “Oh, tingnan mo ko! Nagtatapon ako ng basura.” I set by example. (Laughs)

Any career goals you hope to achieve this year?

Are you hinting that a new album is in the works?

Not me. OPM natin. Gusto ko mag-produce ng artists, help them produce their concepts.

Daniel Padilla, producer. What can we expect from you? Are you focused on a particular genre?

If it sounds unique, gusto ko yun.

Referencing your 2013 hit, we ask you, Nasa Iyo Na (Ba) Ang Lahat?
