Titan x LGR: A match made in hoops heaven

MANILA, Philippines - Creativity in basketball is often displayed within the context of the game itself: dazzling dribbles, fancy passes, and gravity-defying dunks that add a little eye candy to the action. Yet, ever since Michael Jordan unleashed his baggy shorts to the world, basketball creativity has evolved into a fashion statement, an individual expression that challenges the word “uniform”.

Titan, the premier specialty basketball retailer in the country and staunch advocate of hoops love, is taking basketball creativity to another level. Teaming up with leading sportswear brand LGR, they have launched Titan x LGR, a new design studio specializing in customized basketball uniforms, from basic practice uniforms to fully-customized game jerseys.

Titan x LGR is a match made in hoops heaven: combining Titan’s marketing expertise and eye for design with LGR’s technical excellence. LGR, manufacturer of top-flight uniforms for 25 years now, brings a lot experience to the table, having outfitted professional sports teams since 1988 — from the 90s Alaska championship teams in the PBA to the recent USA Jones Cup team. Titan, on the other hand, has been in the business for only three years, yet has already established a strong brand, associated with the best and latest in basketball footwear and apparel. It may be the new kid on the block, but it brings youth, innovation, and a lot of swag.

This isn’t your tito’s liga jerseys anymore. Titan x LGR offers a new DIY approach to uniform design, allowing anyone to choose from a wide array of fabrics, colors, and patterns, tailored to one’s peculiar tastes. Want to step on the court with a full-camouflage gear? Want to hipsterize your uniforms with some Russell Westbrook-type patterns and color schemes? Titan x LGR makes everything possible.

If you’re the more old-school, minimalist type, then look no further than the PBA’s current Governor’s Cup where Titan x LGR’s work is prominently displayed; as worn by Alaska Aces, with their clean, side-stripe free uniforms; and the San Mig Coffee Mixers similarly brilliant throwback look. As the official outfitter of three PBA teams (including the Barako Bull), Titan x LGR offers pro-level quality uniforms for small and big leagues alike by complementing style with function. With its Pro-Fusion Tech method, the design is sublimated on the fabric itself, creating a lightweight feel free from the paint, patches, and stitches of traditional basketball jerseys.

The design studio also offers more basic levels of customization. Pro-custom uses the same concept as Nike ID, where one can choose the design and color of each part of the jersey — the collar, side panels, and the logo. Mid-custom, on the other hand, allows anyone to choose a jersey off the rack and have their team name, number, and player name printed on the spot.
