Criselda Lontok, the “grand dame of timeless design,” makes sure her clothes remain classically feminine. Her elegant touch was evident in her 2017 holiday collection, “Life in Bloom,” which was launched recently at Rustan’s Makati.
The 60-piece ensemble featured brightly colored ruffled pantsuits that could easily be worn from day to night, followed by dressier clothing in lace, chiffon, organza, silk, and jersey that would certainly be perfect for the coming holiday season. The floral theme was noticeably the focus with flowers boldly incorporated into the prints or appliquéd and embroidered on the fabrics.
The surprise of the show was the special appearance of 10 lovely muses — Marivic Vazquez, Bettina Osmeña, Mia Borromeo, Dina Tantoco, Patricia Prieto, Marilou Batchelor, Allana Montelibano, Linda Ley, Erica Concepcion Reyes and Toni Abad — who were handpicked by the designer. They proved that Criselda’s clothes can be worn by the young and the young at heart as her pieces looked great on each one of them.
With over three decades in the industry, the designer has an instinct for knowing what women want to wear, how to look good, and simply feel good about themselves with designs that are loved by women of all generations. Her deep understanding of what women like is masterfully interpreted into timeless and elegant designs.
“My designs are always playful and exciting. We are lovers of love and life, and so we should celebrate that in ways that bring us the most joy,” enthused Criselda.
The Criselda Lontok Holiday 2017 Collection is now available at Rustan’s Makati, Shangri-La, Alabang, Gateway and Cebu.
