Marco Polo Plaza Hotel celebrated Cebu’s grandest festival, the Sinulog with a culinary  journey dubbed as Sugbusog Gihapon. Held at the hotel’s premium buffet restaurant, Café Marco, the fabulous spread  featured a feast of classic Cebuano favorites such a lechon, humba, barbecue, and more. The week-long celebration started with a welcome message from the hotel’s amiable general manager Brian Connelly, followed by a Sinulog ritual dance by the Mactan Dynamic Dance Company.

Beef Pastrami in Focaccia, a pre-ordered meal on Cebu Pacific

Among the dishes are  beef kare-kare, which is reminiscent of home-style cooking but with a twist as it is braised in a creamy cashew nut sauce served with vegetables and steamed rice. The sisig was reinvented using grilled chicken  tossed with red onions, calamansi, chilli and spices. For pescatarians, there is a choice of escabeche and stir-fried mixed seafood of prawns, dory and squid sautéed with salted egg sauce served over steamed rice. For quick bites, there’s the Chicken Inasal Burrito—grilled chicken fillet marinated with lemongrass and annatto, shredded, then sprinkled with cheese and wrapped in a soft tortilla.

The new on-board meals are available on pre-order upon booking a flight, or managing a booked flight on Cebu Pacific. This ensures that the food is prepared only upon order, ensuring a safe, savory and satisfying dining experience.
