MANILA, Philippines - A lavish Chinese New Year celebration was organized by the top-notch 5-star hotel in the Queen City of the South, Marco Polo Plaza Cebu (MPPC), to welcome the Year of the Wood Horse. The celebration started with the annual Yee Sang Tossing Ceremony (also known as Prosperity Toss) and eye dotting ceremony led by MPPC general manager and Marco Polo Hotels, Philippines area general manager Hans Hauri along with member of the government, media and Filipino-Chinese community including Chinese consul general Zhang Wei Guo, Portugal Consul Samuel Chioson and Cebu Governor Hilario Davide III and wife Jobel. Taking the spotlight in this wonderful event was the mouthwatering and delectable spread of authentic Chinese dishes especially prepared by the hotel’s team of culinary experts that truly impressed the discerning palate of the guests. A lion and dragon dance to bring in good fortune, the traditional tossing of coins and firecracker display completed the festivities of the wonderful event.
