Careline Clique: Fun, pretty & unique

Pinky S. Icamen - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Being a teen-aged girl is a fun and exciting time to start discovering her individuality through her own style. This is the stage where she creates lasting friendships; friendships that will bring out her own unique personality. It is best for her to remember that stepping into her teenage years is also a time to embrace her uniqueness and show what she can offer.

To celebrate this amazing moment in a girl’s life, Careline, a “go-to” beauty products brand made ideally for teens, rolled out the “Careline Clique” online contest. This model search is created specifically to look for ladies who embody the “fun and spunky attitude” of the brand.

“The brand is taking a new direction in 2016. It’s still going to be sweet, it’s still going to be pretty but it’s going to be pretty fun. We did the contest to celebrate the girls’ individuality, their unique personalities and their fun outlook in life,” says Careline brand manager Creole David.

The contest winners were announced in a grand fashion through “Careline Carnival” held at Robinsons Antipolo, where brand ambassador Julie Anne San Jose joined guests in an afternoon of fun-filled activities. The ladies who made the Careline Clique circle were Angelika Arceo, Eliza Jane Dialino, Diana Mantalaba, Rica Rivadelo and Maryamm Solis.

Nineteen-year-old Angelika Arceo is a third year Marketing Management student at Miriam College. She loves to play the guitar and the drums. She also writes poems. On joining the Careline Clique contest, she says, “It was fun! (The contest) gave me an opportunity to show who I really am. It also gave me self-confidence.” Angelika swears by the brand as it is “perfect for girls who have sensitive skin like me. I also love how the brand sends the message to girls that we should not be afraid to wear makeup.” At an early age, Angelika advocates women empowerment.

Jane Dialino, a Grade 9 student at St. Mark’s Institute in Las Piñas City, has done ramp modeling for several clothing brands since she was nine years old. “This contest gave me the will to pursue my dream of being a professional model. I enjoyed the experience,” recounts 15-year-old Jane, a top student of her class and a member of a folk dance group in school. “I love Careline products because they are perfect for Filipina teens like me.”

For 15-year-old Iana Mantalaba, the best thing about joining the contest is making her lola Editha Abong proud. “My lola accompanied me during the culminating event. She told me she is proud of me. That was the best moment for me,” shares Iana, who wants to be a pastry chef someday. Like the other winners, Iana shares that the contest boosted her self-confidence. “I really didn’t expect to win. I have a lot of insecurities, one of them is my skin color. Through this experience, I discovered that I may not be fair-skinned but my skin color is what makes me unique,” Iana says. What she loves about Careline products is  their student-friendly prices.

Rica Rivadelo is a second year Business Administration student at the Metropolitan Medical Center College of Arts, Science and Technology in Manila. She shares that joining the contest is so far her best experience. “I’ve joined many pageants in school but never won. Through the Careline Clique contest, I’ve learned how to improve myself. And I also learned that the right time truly comes especially for those who work hard,” says 18-year-old Rica. “I like the brand’s Blush On in Peach Glow because it’s very pigmented and complements all skin tones.”

Nineteen-year-old Yam Solis is a third-year student and academic scholar at Dr. Filemon C. Aguilar Memorial College of Las Piñas taking up Business Administration Major in Financial Management. Meeting new people and getting the chance to have new friends are the benefits Yam has received from her Careline Clique contest experience. “Being one of the finalists is already an achievement for me. Winning the contest is a blessing and a memory I can treasure,” she shares. The brand’s well loved Lip and Cheek Tint is one of Yam’s personal favorites.

All five girls radiate positivity and their combined uniqueness and individuality embodies Careline, a brand that joins girls in their teenage life’s journey.
