Palace orders half-day work-from-home for gov't employees on Holy Wednesday

MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang has ordered a half-day work-from-home arrangement for government employees on April 1, Holy Wednesday, with work suspended from noon onward.

Palace Press Officer Claire Castro announced that government workers will work remotely from 8 a.m. to 12 noon, ahead of the Holy Week break. 

"12:01 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., work is suspended," Castro told reporters in Filipino.

Maundy Thursday on April 2 and Good Friday on April 3 are both regular holidays, while Black Saturday on April 4 is a special non-working holiday.
