LIST: Areas likely to be affected by storm surge events

MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Science and Technology's Project NOAH on Saturday released its latest list of areas that may be affected by storm surges, or the abnormal onrush of water from the coast.

Project NOAH scientists used latest data from the Japan Meteorological Agency to simulate the effects of typhoon "Chedeng" and foresee the height of water that may enter from the coast.

The latest simulation as of 9 a.m. on Saturday yielded the following results:

Lopez, Quezon 1.3 1

An earlier simulated held Friday, 1:45 p.m., more areas were seen likely to be affected by the phenomenon.
