Carla Abellana has some words of wisdom for colleagues going through breakups

Before there were the KathNiel (Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla), BeaDom (Bea Alonzo and Dominic Roque) and KimXi (Kim Chiu and Xian Lim) breakups, the TomCar (Tom Rodriguez and Carla Abellana) breakup happened first.

It was one of the top stories of showbiz in 2022 that the Philippine entertainment fans could not get over since prior to that year, Tom and Carla just got married after being in a relationship for seven years. That breakup was a painful ordeal that happened between the two that, sadly, was open for everyone to witness.

Fast forward to today, it was a pleasant surprise to see Carla out and about in her beautiful deep purple gown walking towards a super club in Taguig ready to party the night away for Mega magazine’s 32nd anniversary and relaunch.

We asked her if it would be a more frequent occurrence for us to see her around in these types of socials. Carla, who is a known introvert, suddenly had this to say, “Every chance I get invited in such events such as this one, why not? For a change and bihira kang maka-mingle ng ganito.”

No one even had to force her to get up and get dressed nowadays but it is a big help that she is in her best disposition now.

“Maganda iyong umpisa ng taon. Kaka-renew ko pa lang ng contract sa GMA. Kakalipat ko lang din sa bago kong house. To me, that’s a very big, mga milestones. Hindi lang sa career but also sa personal life,” she said.

She added that her upscale condominium, which was supposed to be up for sale, is still with her because she also managed to get a tenant to occupy the space. It’s more income, more fun for the beautiful, single lady.

Our conversation also went on to discuss about dating and her openness to it, to which she replied, “Dating? My goodness! I won’t say naman that I am not but ayoko pa siya masyado isipin.”

When it comes to suitors, she said, “Mayroon naman nagpaparamdam noon but now I don’t know where they are maybe because of taping.”

Speaking of taping, Carla is set to start Widows’ War soon on GMA alongside Bea. Now that Bea is the top story because of the alleged breakup issue, Carla said she does not want to pry on her co-stars’ personal lives but she does wish her well.

“Ako ay katrabaho lang naman niya, but of course, I pray for her. I only wish she’s okay,” said the actress, who could just imagine how difficult it must be for Bea right now with what she is going through, especially that she has been down that road before.

But for all the high-profile personalities going through a breakup, here is what Carla had to share about her personal experience.

“Honestly, hindi mo ma-picture iyong bukas. You don’t know where you’ll be, what you’ll be doing but I’m just grateful na nandito na ako today. Kaya ko na humarap sa mundo,” said Carla.

There will always be a light at the end of the tunnel.

“Kahit sino naman kaya! It may seem impossible now or difficult, pero kailangan pagdaanan yon,” she concluded.
