Jhong Hilario leaves 'It's Showtime'

MANILA, Philippines - Jhong Hilario has left "It's Showtime."

On Wednesday's episode of the show, he announced "last day ko na ngayon."

He didn't mention the reason for leaving the show, but his fans assumed it was due to his candidacy for councilor in Makati under the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA).

"Gusto ko lang magpasalamat sa lahat sa inyo. Direk Bobet [Vidanes], maraming salamat!" he said.

"Mami-miss ko kayo," he added.

Jhong was the third host who left the show. First was Coleen Garcia which was due to the series of projects she's working on. She was followed by Eric "Eruption" Tai who left to focus on his sport.
