Billy Crawford: Coleen taught me to take things slower

Joyce Jimenez - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Billy Crawford is taking things slower this time after figuring in a drunken row with a police office in Taguig City last month.

“Siguro sa tingin ko I learned a few things...actually a lot,” he said in an interview with Boy Abunda in “Aquino & Abunda Tonight” on Monday. “I can't really have a fifteen-minute conversation about this but one thing I learned for sure is that take everything slower, slower phase."

“So actually the person who taught me that was Coleen, that was kind of sweet.”

Billy is now back to work hosting "It's Showtime," and busy promoting his film “Moron 5.2: The Transformation!” where he stars with Luis Manzano, Marvin Agustin, Matteo Guidicelli, John “Sweet” Lapus, and DJ Durano.

Although he admits that doing comedy is not easy, it is something that he enjoys.

“I enjoy it, honestly,” he said about doing comedy projects. “It's not easy, hindi siya gano'n kadali, actually to do a comedy film. Sa tingin ko when you're working with people like direk Wenn [de Ramas], Luis Manzano, Marvin Agustin, I think it all falls into place.”

The film, directed by Wenn de Ramas, will be in cinemas on November 5.

Meanwhile, Billy said that he is still keen on pursuing an international career as a performer.

“I still definitely plan to go back,” he said. “I'm just really prioritizing what I'm doing here, which I know people say, 'you're stupid for doing that.' But you know what, it is my choice and I enjoy what I do here.

“I love my new family here but I still have an opportunity. If the windows [for international opportunities] are sill open or doors are still open, why not?”
