Mikhail Red wins Best New Director in Vancouver

MANILA, Philippines - Mikhail Red (left, with co-winner Axelle Ropert of France) was named Best New Director (for Rekorder) at the 33rd Vancouver International Film Festival in Canada. The jury described Rekorder as ‘an ambitious, urgent and passionate film about the underside of contemporary urban life.’

The award was formerly known as The Dragons & Tigers Award for Young Cinema.

Ropert won the same award for his film Miss and The Doctors.
