Kris on James: Sana nagpatawad ako

MANILA, Philippines – Kris Aquino said she regrets not forgiving ex-husband James Yap during their marriage.

 

“There's a lot of regret, that's the truth. Maraming panghihinayang. Nagsisisi ako na noong dapat nagpatawad ako, sana nagpatawad ako. But it is what it is and we have moved on,” the 43-year-old TV host-actress said during the ABS-CBN evening talk show “Aquino and Abunda Tonight” on Tuesday, April 8.

 

This comes after Kris showed a clip of her interview with James during the birthday party of their son Bimby on April 8 on the said “Aquino and Abunda Tonight” episode. In the short clip of the interview, it can be seen that Kris turned emotional as she said sorry to James for all the “heartache” she has caused. 

 

“I'm very sorry James sa lahat ng heartache na ibinigay ko,” she told James. The basketball player responded: “Sorry din, hindi man ako perfect na partner, napatawad mo pa rin ako.”

 

Kris also told James she appreciated how he was there for Joshua, her son with actor Philip Salvador.

 

“I want to say thank you to you dahil hindi ka rin naman sumuko. Ang ibang mga lalaki, puwedeng-puwedeng sumuko na at sabihing, 'Bahala na kayo sa buhay niyo dahil ayoko na ng gulo.' Pero hindi ka rin bumitaw, kaya nagpapasalamat ako sa'yo,” she added in the preview of the interview with James.

 

After the airing of the interview clip, Kris said she regrets fighting with James in front of their son Bimby. “It's a lesson sana for all the parents out there watching us now, if it doesn't work out for both of you, be the bigger person, don't fight in front of the child because James and I are paying the price right now,” she said.

 

Kris also said: “Nagpasalamat ako kay James kasi dahil sa kanya, nabigyan ako ng best friend ko. Bimby is my best friend. He's only turning seven but he's my strength—katulong ko sa pagpapalaki kay kuya (Josh), siya yung nagbibigay lakas sa akin, siya yung umiintindi sa akin. And sinabi ko kay James, 'I never would have had this beautiful gift if you were not a part of my life'.”

 

But the TV host-actress clarified her turning emotional about James does not mean she still has feelings for the cager.

 

“Pero if I love him now? He will always have a place in my heart but I'm at a point already na meron na akong ibang gustong makasama panghabang-buhay,” she said.

 

In the Monday, April 7 episode of “Aquino and Abunda Tonight,” Kris admitted she is dating Quezon City mayor Herbert Bautista.

 

Meanwhile, James is in a relationship with Italian Michaela Cazzola.
