MANILA, Philippines - TV5’s Kidlat ends its first season with an epic superhero crossover. In the final two weeks of the series, Kidlat (played by Derek Ramsay) finds an ally in the newest superhero in town, the warrior angel Cassandra. Primetime Princess Eula Caballero suits up and joins forces with Kidlat as they fend off forces of evil. The superhero pairing not only gives way to the much-anticipated airing of Cassandra: Warrior Angel (slated to replace Kidlat), but also gives hope to fans of the show that TV5 will come up with new and exciting superheroes in the future.

“This is only one of the many superhero crossovers that we plan to produce in the future,” TV5 FVP for Creative and Entertainment Production Perci Intalan says. “Viewers have responded so well to Kidlat and we hope that this fresh offering will be something that the fans will enjoy.”

Along with this thrilling development, Kidlat celebrates its successful run by inviting all superhero aficionados to the first-ever Kidlat Konvention happening on April 28 at the Annex event area of SM North EDSA. In partnership with SMART and Cosplay.ph, KidlatKonvention will feature the cast of Kidlat, led by Derek and Eula, to meet and greet fans.

Event attendees will surely enjoy the fun booths and activities in store, which include henna tattoo sessions, photo booths, games and Cosplay Competition. Amazing prizes also await those who will come in superhero costume.

“We’re all excited to be part of the Konvention,” Derek shares. “This show was first introduced in Cosplay Mania last year and it’s only fitting that we end our first season with our own cosplay event.”

Catch the action-packed two-week finale of Kidlat weeknights at 7.
