A blessing in disguise for Lana Roi
Rosalinda L. Orosa (The Philippine Star) - April 9, 2013 - 12:00am

MANILA, Philippines - Lana Roi whose real name is Theresa Fenger, may have not made it to this year’s Bb. Pilipinas after she was disqualified for posing in FHM Magazine three years ago. But she has moved on, after insisting that she did not participate in any “bold” activity, nor posed nude or partially nude.

The Century Superbods 2009 winner even thinks it’s a blessing in disguise. Now, she can focus on helping the youth as endorser of the Day By Day Care and Youth Foundation, which pursues programs in entrepreneurship, education, livelihood, career development, socio-economic services, spiritual and social enhancement and sports.

Jojo Toledo, one of the foundation organizers, says Lana is an ideal choice as endorser.  She can reach out to the youth, not only through her beauty and her will to help. She can also reach out to them through song.

Lana was the front act in Jennifer Lopez’s show at the Mall of Asia Arena last year. The singer-songwriter is looking forward to releasing her album middle of the year.

“I have a soft spot for young people. I want to be with kids. Education is very important,” she states.

The foundation has lined up a concert, a fun run to raise funds for its scholarship program, regular lugaw patrol sessions and sports development as part of its strategy. It’s also exploring avenues on how to provide livelihood projects to scholars’ parents.
