Confidence: A gift of a lifetime

The Philippine Star

Many overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) toil for months and years just to provide for their family in the Philippines. One such OFW is Rudy Saril, 42. He has been working for 19 years in Dammam, Saudi Arabia and only gets to spend two months in a year with his wife and kids.

For Rudy, the sacrifice is worth it, as long as he can give his daughter and his son a good education and a bigger chance to reach their dreams.

â€œI just want to give my children the chance to pursue their dreams in life, to be successful in their chosen fields and for them to have a good life and future,” he says.

Rudy is especially proud of his daughter, Judy Anne. He has seen her daughter bloom from an awkward girl who was once shy and unsociable to one who is slowly making a name in the entertainment industry.

“I enrolled her in John Robert Powers (JRP) because I wanted her to develop her skills. We visited JRP and we saw that the programs can really be of big help to Judy,” he says.

JRP has, for decades, transformed the lives of many Filipinos with its programs that put emphasis on personality development, confidence building, and image enhancement. It also offers courses in modeling, acting, hosting, English Proficiency and Communication Skills.

Judy enrolled in the school’s English Learning Program in 2008 and later on also took up Basic & Advance Personality Development Program as well as Celebrity Program.

Judy says she is very grateful that her father has given her “the gift of a lifetime.”

â€œMy personality improved a lot because of JRP. I have gained so much confidence and it helped me pursue my dreams. After JRP, I modeled for certain brands in the fashion industry. I also had the chance to appear on TV and even in a movie. I am now a courtside reporter of my school in the UAAP games. Until now, I still can't believe that I achieved those things, thanks to JRP!” she says.

The most important thing for Judy is not the success that she is enjoying right now; she especially takes pride in the fact that she has, in her own small way, made her father happy.

“My dad says that he is really proud of what I’m doing. He always supports me in all the things that I do. He even keeps telling me that enrolling in JRP is a really good investment. He sees that his hard work is really worth it,” she says.

To which Rudy enthuses: “JRP can assure us that our kids will have a bright future. It is really worth an investment because, after all, parents always want the best for their children.”

You may call John Robert Powers in Makati 8929511, Quezon City 9270465 or Alabang 6590052 for more details.
