Gerald leads Star Magic cagers to victory in HK

MANILA, Philippines - As part of Star Magic’s 20th anniversary celebration, Rayver Cruz, Jason Abalos, Ejay Falcon, Matt Evans, Young JV, Jose Sarasola, Lance Christopher, Joseph Marco, Gerard Acao, Fred Payawan with their team captain Gerald Anderson participated in an invitational game in Hong Kong against OFW team HK Pinoy League. It is their first time to participate in a tournament outside the Philippines after playing against various university and college basketball teams in the country. 

Star Magic cagers were warmly welcomed and supported by Pinoy basketball enthusiasts recently at Southorn Stadium in Hong Kong. The fans couldn’t contain themselves as the game started with Star Magic leading immediately with four points (21-17). It was a tight game by the second and third quarter but the stars maintained their lead until the end. Star Magic’s fighting spirit pulled them through victory with a final score of 98-92. Gerald was hailed Best Player of the game after making a total of 38 points.

Rayver, Young JV and Gerald also did a dance showdown while Jason showed off his comedic side as he pretended to be the opponent of his own team. After the game, fellow kababayan also had a chance to have a photo opportunity with the Star Magic stars.
