Inah’s debut:  Tears of joy, screams of surprise

-

The mother cried. The father cried. But Inah Revilla, the debutante, nearly screamed for joy when her crush, Dennis Trillo made a surprise appearance and serenaded her at the Esplanade 1, Bay Blvd., Manila.

There were many touching moments. But the most touching was when mom Lani Mercado delivered this message to her eldest daughter as dad, Sen. Bong Revilla stood quietly by, as if agreeing to his wife’s comments.

The letter reads:

Ate Inah,

My little Inah. Time really flies so fast. Your name Inah Felicia meaning mother’s happiness truly comes from my heart. You have accomplished a lot of things and I know you have a lot of dreams and ambitions.

You are like a diamond slowly being cut to maximize its value. Like a rough diamond that’s pure, you too are pure in spirit. You are multi-faceted like the many colors and characteristics of a diamond. Like a diamond, you bring joy and life to anyone who wears it.

That’s why I give you these diamond earrings and ring. Please do take care of them and value them. Diamonds are a girl’s best friend. I had to earn my first set.

Now that you already a young lady, take care of the decisions you make. More than you take care of these precious diamond pieces. Focus on your studies and your career. We dream that you pursue your course and hopefully be a lawyer. Huwag muna mag-asawa at huwag muna magseryoso sa pag-ibig. Love can wait. Achieve your dreams and turn out to be the most beautiful diamond. Happy birthday ate! Mama loves you very much. You are a blessing to me and your Papa.
