DMCI Homes named 'Mason of the Year'

-

MANILA, Philippines - The success story of premiere Triple A builder /developer DMCI Homes is molded not just by the construction of beautiful homes for every Filipino, but also by a tradition of excellence and exceptional skills as told by the numerous personal triumphs of the people behind the country’s top construction firm.

DMCI Homes mason, Eduardo Latap, is already part of the company’s success story – he was recently adjudged as one of the national winners in the 2011 Holcim Galing Mason Awards, a joint undertaking of Holcim and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA). Alejandro Tagle from Quirino province in Region 2, also shared the title with Latap.

TESDA and Holcim tied up to recognize the country’s outstanding masons to encourage more of their kind to continuously improve their craft and to professionalize the industry. The project also recognizes the country’s outstanding mason who is honest, hardworking, persevering, highly skilled and successful in his/her field, and who has in his/her own way contributed to the development of society.

Latap’s award mirrored his mother company’s values when it comes to integrity, excellence, customer satisfaction and interdependence. He has been with the company for 15 years, working as mason and now supervisor in several DMCI Homes projects. He is currently spending much of his time and talent in the Cedar Crest project in Taguig. He was awarded Best Mason at DMCI Inc. in 2005, 2006 and 2007, and Outstanding Supervisor in 2009.
