New Maybank Kim Eng Group CEO

MANILA, Philippines - John Chong has been appointed chief executive officer of Maybank Kim Eng Group and Maybank Investment Bank Berhad (Maybank IB). John, 46, was previously deputy CEO of Maybank IB, and interim officer-in-charge of the investment bank as well as acting head of Maybank Kim Eng Group. He holds a bachelor of economics (Hons) degree from the University of Queensland, in Brisbane, Australia. Maybank Group president and CEO, Datuk Abdul Farid Alias said that John is the ideal candidate to assume the post of CEO, given his wide experience and in-depth knowledge of the industry.
