DENR, WEAP offer pollution control course

MANILA, Philippines - A four-day seminar titled “Basic Training Course for New Pollution Control Officers (PCO” will be held Feb. 9-12, 2010 at Great Eastern Hotel, Quezon Ave., Quezon City.   

Jointly undertaken by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) – Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) – NCR and the Water Environment Association of the Philippines (WEAP) Inc., the event will orient prospective PCOs on the different environmental laws and their corresponding rules and regulations, EMB policies and programs and PCO duties and responsibilities.

Director Roberto Sheen leads the training to coach the participants to improve their environmental management, pollution prevention and cleaner production. Participants will be accredited as pollution control officers.
