Access road to Clark Green City completed next month

Richmond Mercurio - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines – State-owned Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) is set to complete next month the 19.4-kilometer access road project that will provide a greater level of accessibility to the Clark Green City site.

In a statement yesterday, BCDA said construction of the access road project is in full blast and is currently 60 percent complete.

BCDA president and CEO Arnel Paciano Casanova said once the access road project is completed by July 15, both current and prospective investors would be able to visit the area more frequently.

Casanova said roads would play a vital role in the development of the area, as it will increase its land value, economic potential and attractiveness to interested investors and proponents.

“The bulldozers are on full throttle and we are on track in building the country’s first smart, green and disaster-resilient metropolis, Once the roads are completed, we start breaking ground for the various development projects located at different sites of Clark Green City,” he said.

BCDA said the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is also implementing the construction of two primary access roads that lead to the Clark Green City.

The two primary access roads are the seven-kilometer MacArthur Access leading to Clark Green City project and the 16-kilometer Clark Airport-Bamban-Capas Access road project.

The MacArthur access leading to Clark Green City project is expected to be finished by the second quarter of next year while the Clark Airport-Bamban-Capas access road project is eyed for completion by 2018.

BCDA said the development of the 9,450-hectare Clark Green City would be undertaken in phases, the first of which will comprise 288 hectares that will be co-developed with property developer Filinvest Land Inc.
