Wharton Penn, Harvard Business School hold forum on energy development

MANILA, Philippines - For the first time, the Wharton Penn Alumni Association (WAA) and Harvard Business School (HBS) Club of the Philippines, under the presidency of Peter Coyiuto (WAA ) and Jose Barroco and Mikko Perez, co-presidents of HBS, will jointly hold a panel discussion entitled “Energy Priorities and Attracting Investments for New Power Plants” with Energy Secretary Jose Rene Almendras as Guest of Honor.

The panelists include Erramon Aboitiz, president and CEO of Aboitiz Power Corp., Federico Lopez, chairman and CEO of First Philippine Holdings Corp., Alan Ortiz, president and COO of San Miguel Global Power Holdings Corp. and Oscar Reyes; senior executive vice-president and COO of Meralco.

The event will be held on Oct. 6 starting at 6 p.m. at the Filipinas Heritage Library, Nielsen Tower (across the Manila Peninsula Hotel), Ayala Triangle, Makati Ave., Makati City.

Wharton and Harvard Business Schools are among six Ivy League Business Schools. Wharton Business School has been consistently ranked by the Financial Times as best business school in the world while Harvard Business School is ranked first in North America in the 2009 QS Global 200 Business Schools Report.
