MANILA, Philippines — The concept of beauty has been constantly evolving for centuries, but one thing holds true: beauty goes beyond looks – it discerns and does good.

Such has been the philosophy of proudly Filipino beauty brand Human Nature, which recently marked its 15 years of celebrating beauty with a purpose.

As part of its anniversary celebrations, the brand showcased its flagship beauty innovations over the years, its newest limited edition line, and its recently launched breakthrough face care products through a stylized gallery in Odd Cafe in Makati last October 18.

According to brand co-founder Camille Meloto-Rodriguez, among the company’s secrets to success is taking pride “in crafting world-class local products that are all at least 95% natural, effective, and free from harmful chemicals – allowing you to enjoy nurturing glow from head to toe.”

“But there's more to this glow than what meets the eye. Just as how we believe that beauty is more than skin-deep,” she enthused.

Each of the brand’s product centers on the company’s core advocacies: pro-Philippines, pro-poor and pro-environment.

“Our products are expertly formulated by Filipino scientists and 100% manufactured locally. Whenever possible, we use locally-grown ingredients no matter the cost to help our homeland and local farmers thrive,” Rodriguez shared.

“Going beyond profit, we dream for the working poor to rise out of poverty and help create a new middle class. From day one, our rank-and-file employees receive a living wage and stable employment through our no-firing policy. Putting people first is a sound business policy because not only does it increase productivity through trained and loyal employees but it also creates a culture of empowerment and excellence.”

Beyond taking care of people, the company also advocated nurturing the planet through creating natural, biodegradable product innovations that encourage users to “switch to goodness” for good.

“This commitment makes us the first brand in the Philippines with the widest range of plastic bottle-free formulations. With our sustainability initiatives, we've saved 37.2 tons of plastic waste from ending up in oceans and landfills as of September 2023,” Rodriguez noted.

“With our every product, we seek to advocate beauty that discards toxic trends; beauty that makes more meaningful, more compassionate, and more sustainable choices; and beauty that inspires others to do the same. Our recent product launches are a testament to this commitment.”

According to Human Nature Founder and President Anna Meloto-Wilk, 15 years ago, they started the company with a dream of introducing the promise of beauty that is kind to the skin, local communities, and planet.

“Today, we are the pioneer local brand in the country to come up with a full range of natural and clean beauty and personal care innovations made by Filipinos for Filipinos. We are where we are today because of our fellow Filipinos who believe in us. So in this milestone event, it's you whom we celebrate!"
