Rising Filipino boxing star Laurente gets timely boost ahead of Australia bout

MANILA, Philippines — Unbeaten Filipino world title prospect Criztian Laurente is heading into his second fight overseas with an extra drive.
This, after the rising star announced he has secured a major sponsorship ahead of his pivotal fight in Australia in October.
Laurente (16-0, with 10 knockouts) has entered into a partnership with Filipino health and wellness brand Goodies Nutrition, a deal that should be financially and mentally helpful as he continues his journey toward world title contention.
The slick and powerful southpaw is currently deep in high-altitude training in Baguio City, vowing to work hard to be in tip-top condition to hurdle his upcoming bout and protect his perfect record.
“This fight means a lot — not just for my record, but for the Philippines. Every time I step into the ring overseas, I’m defending more than my title, I represent the whole country and set an example to many,” said Laurente.
“Having Goodies Nutrition behind me for this one means even more people get to be part of that fight,” he added.
The 26-year-old Laurente is coming off a technical knockout win over countryman Jing Guan last June 13 in General Santos City.
Laurente sealed his partnership with Goodies Nutrition — known for its best-selling Glow Goodies Collagen Gummies — in a signing ceremony recently at his Golden Boy Boxing Gym in Parañaque.
James Fernando, co-founder and vice president of commercial of Armada Brands, underscored that Laurente is a perfect fit for their firm.
“Criztian trains like a champion and builds his businesses the same way — that discipline is exactly what we want associated with Goodies Nutrition and our ongoing mission to support every Filipinos’ health journey,” said Fernando.“Watching him defend his title in Australia wearing our name is something our whole team is proud of.”
