MANILA, Philippines - Ortigas & Co. recently celebrated a full-packed Independence Day weekend in all Ortigas malls (Greenhills Shopping Center, Tiendesitas and Estancia).

Last June 12, the smash hit comedy musical Rak of Aegis presented a special one-night-only performance at the Frontera Verde’s newly-completed Tiendesitas Food Hall. The cast members present during the event were Sweet Plantado, Kakai Bautista, Loy Martinez, Poppert Bernadas, Ron Alfonso, Gold Villar, Juliene Mendoza and Benj Manalo.

One of Philippine Educational Theater Association or PETA’s longest running and most successful productions, the award-winning Rak of Aegis was inspired by the vocal cord-blasting music of the Filipino pop rock band Aegis.

Also part of the Independence Day revelry is the traveling exhibit My OPM Playlist. Ortigas & Co. in partnership with the Organisasyon Ng Pilipinong Mang-Aawit (OPM) features the playlists and photos of 30 influential Filipinos like Jose Mari Chan, Ogie Alcasid, Lisa Macuja, Ryan Cayabyab, Christian Bautista, Jose Javier Reyes, Daniel Padilla, Phil Younghusband, Howie Severino, Ebe Dancel, Mitch Valdes and Dingdong Avanzado. Providing additional treat to the exhibit is the chance to listen to the featured personalities’ personal favorite songs.

My OPM Playlist is a collection of Original Pilipino Music (OPM) from people who make music, by people who embrace OPM and for people who live with music.

Another exhibit featuring the works of talented and brave photographers will be on display for a month in each of the three Ortigas malls.

Catch the Pinoy Photography Organization (PiPho) Exhibit at Tiendesitas until July 12; Estancia, July 14 to Aug. 13; and Greenhills, Aug. 15 to Sept. 17.
